DIEGO MENDIETA 
Diego Mendieta, a native of Uruguay, graduated from the Uruguay Naval Academy in 1990. In 2009 he was promoted to the rank
of Commander. During his carrier as a Naval Officer since 1991, he has been  involved in teaching specific professional subjects
to enlisted personnel and junior officers; he taught Naval Operations and Cinematic at the Naval Academy between 1999 and 2000; at the PPC (Pearson Peacekeeping Centre), he was a facilitator for the United Nations Integrated Missions Staff Officer Course IV; he was  instructor of the Uruguayan Army Peacekeeping School for the UN Staff Officers Course until December 2008; he delivered a speech on UN Peacekeeping Mission Environment of MONUC in CAECOPAZ (Argentinean Peacekeeping Training Center) in May 2009; as a United Nations Training Officer he delivered four UN CPT (United Nations Civilian Pre-deployment Training Courses) at the UNLB (United Nations Logistic Base) one in March, one in June and two in October 2010; he participated as a speaker, facilitator and assistant within the Latin America Peacekeeping Capacity Building Project (LAPCB)  of the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) in representation of UN/DPKO/ITS for the  Lima Seminar “Handling Crises in Peace Operations:
A Case Study of MINUSTAH” in April 2009 and for Quito Workshop on “Training Standards” in June 2010; he represented UN/DPKO/ITS at ALCOPAZ 2º General Assembly in Rio de Janeiro Brazil in August 2010; and in September 2010 he delivered
a UN ToT (United Nations Trainer of Trainers Course) in Nairobi for the Eastern African Countries.

He organized and directed the MPAC (Military and Police Advisers Community) Induction Program in New York, in October 2009, April 2010 and April 2011; he  organized and co-directed a Workshop for the IMTCs chief (Integrated Mission Training Centres)
in Brindisi, and this workshop will follow  by an Evaluation and Impact Assessment workshop where he was participant, delivered by the ROI Institute, in May 2011.
Until August 2011 he was a Training Officer for UN/DPKO/ITS for the Field Training Support Team
