André Roux, a native of South Africa, has a Masters of Management in Security and is a specialist in post-conflict environments. He has experience with operational deployments to Eritrea, Ethiopia, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Angola, Mozambique, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire and Rwanda.  Knowledge and expertise of several other conflict environments in Africa and further abroad. Extensive experience of delivering training in a multinational and multicultural environment. Wide knowledge and skills base relating to UN standards as well as doctrine, tactics and techniques for military and police in Integrated UN Peace Missions.
For the last seven years he has been a Peace Support Operations Planning Officer responsible for planning deployments of the SANDF to PSO missions, including to; Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nepal, Sudan (Darfur), Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, the Comoros, Central African Republic and Uganda.  During this period he also had the responsibility of representing the Joint Operations Division of the SANDF with all PSO related training, was responsible for developing and presenting mission readiness training modules for all SANDF Staff Officers and Mission Specialists deploying to PSOs and developed nearly all the present PSO related training courses for Staff Officers and Mission Specialists presented at our National Peace Mission Training Centre (PMTC), which is open to all Government Departments.  In addition, he has been an instructor on various PSO modules covering peacekeeping subjects, planning processes and mission specific briefings.  This has been at various institutions, including; the SA Defence Intelligence College, SA Intelligence School, SA Air Force College, CMIS College, SA Army College, SA National War College, the South African Police Services PSO training department (UNPOL course), and the Diplomat Training Academy (for 1st Secretaries and Ambassadors) of the SA Department of International Relations (Foreign Affairs).
